HND, BTEC & Edexcel Assignment Help
Higher National and BTEC assignments are marked against set criteria, so the biggest gains come from reading the brief carefully and showing the right level of thinking. We help you do both in your own words.
We coach you through your own work with explanations, planning, feedback and examples. We don't write assignments for you to submit.
What we help with
- Reading the assignment briefWork out each task, the evidence needed and the deadline.
- Learning outcomes and criteriaSee what each criterion is asking for, line by line.
- Pass, Merit and DistinctionUnderstand what extra depth the higher grades expect.
- Multi-task unitsPlan assignments that have several parts and a presentation.
- Reports and presentationsStructure your write-up and talk through your ideas clearly.
- ReferencingUse Harvard referencing and keep your own work original.
How HND and BTEC assignments are marked
Each unit has learning outcomes, and your work is judged against assessment criteria. These are often labelled P for Pass, M for Merit and D for Distinction.
To reach a higher grade you generally need to go beyond description into analysis and then evaluation. Wording and rules vary between colleges, so always use your own unit's criteria and your tutor's feedback as the final guide.
Read the command verbs carefully
The verb at the start of each criterion tells you how deep to go.
- Describe: say what something is.
- Explain: say how or why it happens.
- Analyse: break it into parts and look at how they connect.
- Evaluate: weigh strengths and weaknesses and reach a judgement.
- Justify: give reasons and evidence for a choice.
Turn the brief into a plan
- Copy every criterion into a checklist.
- Give each criterion its own heading in your draft.
- Note what evidence or examples you need for each one.
- Set small deadlines before the real one.
- Leave time at the end to proofread and check every criterion is covered.
Using feedback and resubmissions
If your work comes back with a refer or a lower grade than you hoped, read the feedback line by line. Resubmission rules differ between colleges, so check yours.
We can help you understand what the feedback means and how to approach the rewrite. You do the rewriting yourself.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Answering only at Pass level when aiming for Merit or Distinction.
- Not mapping your answer to each criterion.
- Missing one task or one part of a task.
- Weak or missing referencing.
- Leaving everything until the final day.
Common questions
Is Edexcel the same as BTEC?
Edexcel is a Pearson brand, and BTEC and Higher National qualifications (HNC and HND) are Pearson qualifications. Your college sets the assignments, and Pearson sets the unit specifications.
Do you write HND assignments for me?
No. We help you understand the brief, plan your answer and improve your own drafts. You write and submit your own work.
Can you explain what Merit and Distinction need?
Yes. Send us the criteria and we will explain what each one is asking for and how to show it.
Can you help me understand feedback after a refer?
Yes. We can go through the feedback with you and help you plan your next attempt.
Tell us what you are working on and when it is due. We usually reply within 30 minutes.
